Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to have a WordPress site to do this training?

Nope. Not at all. If you do? Great! If not, it's ok.

This training is to ease you into it - to warm up your brain for planning ahead and knowing what WordPress is capable of and that it's not as complicated as you might have heard or assumed. I show you the framework and approach you need to get you moving in the right direction - the thing that is practical, repeatable and trains you how to and customize for what you need and want.

If you have a WordPress site already, great! This will still apply to you and even give you a leg up with the included Plugin Stack Bible of tried and true plugin stacks that work.

I already have a website. Can I use these ecommerce options with my existing website or do I need to start from scratch?

The short answer is no - you don't have to redo everything from scratch. You can add payments, configure and start collecting even on the same day. It just depends on what kind of store you're setting up.

The long answer is, well, a little bit of yes, a little bit of no.

No because many plugins only need configuration for it to start working.

Yes because, if you're using a paid or free theme, you'll start to lose control of your branding, in which case, I'd recommend switching to a theme builder to have full control over your brand online.

I don't sell products and don't need a shop. Can I still use WordPress to accept payments?

Spoiler alert: Yes you can! And in many cases, without costing you anything. Including your sanity. 😅

I'm completely new to WordPress and still not sure if it's the right choice for me. What do I get out of this training?

You'll get a different approach to get you on the right path of WordPress. Most often people dive into WordPress without much guidance and are left to freeform swim in the WordPress ocean without a life jacket. So I'm giving you WordPress arm floaties and here at WPLS, we turn simple learnings into big action.

I'm worried about security and being hacked. Is using WordPress for payments safe?

Yes! And I'm not just trying to reassure you. We use Stripe or PayPal for that. Come and see! 😛
