There are 5 modules that cover the entire process from choosing and setting up your host provider to choosing a page builder, to learning your page builder, setting up your email and email deliverability, security, writing content, testing and launching.
Oh, and of course, everyone's favourite topic: plugins!
Yes, totally. Whether you've been around the block with WordPress or setting up a brand new one, this will still valuable because with revamping a WordPress site, there are opportunities for improvement and changes and the course will take you through the entire process.
And that's the difference - I know you'll walk away with a few new nuggets and a better process in how you approach not only building but maintaining your site.
No prior knowledge is needed!
The course is a beginner-friendly and takes you through the entire cycle of launching your site. If you are hesitant then I recommend starting with Learn-It-From-Scratch Bootcamp which is a little bit like the course before the course. These courses work well together but you certainly can jump right into the DIY StartUp Kit without it.
Yes, you can! I decode everything in plain old English and the videos show you exactly what you need to do!
You can definitely get a one pager (still a site!) up in as little as 3 days to a week if you're working on this full time with roughly 1 module a day.
You can also choose to work through it at your own pace to get an entire site up.
Typically students complete it within 1 to 2 weeks and revisit the design and plugin modules again and again.
Do what's comfortable for you!
I recommend setting a launch date goal and work backwards from there to keep yourself on track.
Not with this course!
But of course, the extra costs come with whether or not you'll be investing in any premium plugins which are typically yearly subscriptions.
I also highly recommend investing in a Theme Builder as you first 'big' investment rather than opting for a free theme. This can range between $69 to $299 with the most popular ones costing less than $100 a year.
Yes - this will definitely point you in the direction to choose the right stack that works for you. I do recommend choosing a Theme Builder over a theme.
As for plugins, you get my Plugin Bible template of tired and true plugins and recommendations. I keep my eye on the best and always announce more in the Facebook Support Group or in weekly emails!
Of course! You can comment within the lesson or join the Facebook Student Support Group and ask your questions there. My motto: there are no stupid questions!
Absolutely and it's one of the big reasons I built this course and also why I don't recommend themes and recommend using Theme Builders so that you can fully customize it to your brand, your style, your voice.
Fun fact: I can tell what platform a site is built with just by looking at it. And if it's WordPress, which Theme Builder. Occupational hazard. 🙈 I've been fooled before but it's typically easy to see when someone's using a template off of a particular platform.
WordPress is the only platform in which you can replicate most of the designs out there so you can definitely make it.. un-cookie-cutter 😛 and uniquely yours.
Full transparency, the course is currently being revamped as the content is now a couple of years old so some of the videos will have an older version of WordPress back-end, but it is still the same process, still the same steps and it will still look mostly the same. WordPress doesn't change much. 😛
The will see new lessons added or updated and the plan is to have updated lessons (if need be) the Spring of each year.
